Maurice Ravel

  3.      What was Ravel’s main instrument?

Ravel was a fine pianist, especially in his younger years. He was not a child prodigy like Claude Debussy, but he did possess a remarkable technique, and he is credited with many of the pioneering aspects of 20th century piano writing, especially pedaling. As he grew older, he preferred to have other pianists perform his more difficult piano works.
