7.  What is “Night Music”?

"'Night Music” consists of those works or passages in Bartók which convey to the listener the sounds of nature at night, often producing a very eerie soundscape. Bartók himself approved of the term. One commentator has described this music as "quiet, blurred cluster-chords and imitations of the twittering of birds and croaking of nocturnal creatures".
