Often considered to be the most brilliant of the famous Strauss tone poems, Till Eulenspiegel is a work of pure orchestral virtuosity. It tells the story of the legendary prankster Till Eulenspiegel, and graphically depicts his various exploits. We hear the section toward the end of the piece where he is condemned at court for his activities and is sentenced to hang. Great descriptive music!
